We’re thrilled to announce a powerful new partnership between Iron Mine Contracting (IMC) and Built Ink to develop a state-of-the-art Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) Workshop at Muchea. This collaboration brings together two industry leaders committed to innovation and excellence, combining IMC’s expertise in heavy mining equipment and Built Ink’s reputation for delivering exceptional industrial construction.

The project, set to commence in April 2025, will be built in two stages. The first stage, which includes the office complex and eight workshop bays, is slated for handover in Q2 CY26. This cutting-edge facility will enable IMC to further expand its fleet capacity and enhance their vehicle and component remanufacturing capabilities to meet the growing demand for larger and more complex equipment.

Michael Little, Director of Built Ink, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating,

“At Built Ink, we strive to work tirelessly with our customers to deliver the best possible outcomes for their business to flourish. With the allowance for 50-tonne cranes in a 2,635m² workshop and a hook height of 8m, we believe this facility will propel Iron Mine Contracting to be the class leader in services, equipment, and facilities for the mining industry in such a strategic location along the Northern Corridor.”

The new workshop will not only accommodate the expansion of IMC’s fleet but also ensure minimal downtime, providing essential support to their operations in a market that demands efficiency and reliability. Designed to cater to equipment sizes ranging from standard to Ultra Class, this facility is built to meet the growing needs of modern mining fleets.

IMC CEO Clinton Keenan shared his enthusiasm for the project, saying,

“We are really excited to be kicking off this next phase of our journey by investing heavily in expanding our HME infrastructure to deliver even more value to clients, enhance our already significant capabilities, and maintain a competitive edge in what is a rapidly evolving market.”

A Strategic Location

The Muchea site is ideally located along the Northern Corridor, making it a strategic hub for servicing heavy mining equipment. This location provides convenient access for IMC’s clients, ensuring they can continue to rely on the company’s services with minimal delays.

The facility’s design will accommodate 50-tonne cranes and feature a 2,635m² workshop with a hook height of 8 meters, ensuring it can handle some of the largest and most demanding equipment in the mining industry. With these features, the facility will not only increase the scale of IMC’s operations but also position them as the leader in mining services and infrastructure in the region.
